Good morning (or afternoon/evening/night, depending on where you are)!
I know pitching can feel grim, exhausting, pointless, etc, especially with editors you’ve never worked with. So, I wanted to share a couple of tweets where people said that yes, you can get paying opportunities from calls for pitches!
Linda Maleh on Twitter: "@Jayson_Greene I’m a tv critic and my first paid article ever was because I saw a call for pitches on this site. I have also been assigned a piece because an editor saw a tweet of mine. Twitter is only ever gonna be so helpful but it has helped at least a little" / Twitter
Pete Croatto on Twitter: "Has a tweet I've written led directly to an assignment? No. Have I received assignments via Twitter by messaging an editor, responding to a call for pitches, or an editor recognizing that I was fluent in a subject? It's the reason I'm still here." / Twitter
Now, onto the writing jobs and pitch calls for paid subscribers!
